The Martin Luther King Committee of the New Hope Community is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to promote educational workshops rooted in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s philosophy of nonviolent protest.

The Martin Luther King Committee of the New Hope Community sponsors an Annual Youth Leadership Summer Program. The program focus on empowering our youth to become future leaders of Rutherfordton, NC.
The program begins in June - August.
Classes are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Program funded by Dogwood Health Trust Racial Equity Community Grant of Asheville, NC.
Activities include Leadership and Communication Skills, Basic Financial Workshops, MLK Resources, Steam Education, and Community Engagement. Tours throughout the County and Washington, DC Historical Landmarks, and much more.
